 Hello everybody today we did Wednesday's SLJ activity and it was to design a Geometree but sence it is getting close to Christmas we decided to do one of a Christmas tree. The Hungry giant lunch 

One day dad was so hungry he said to me get me some food! So he ate 5 bags of salt and vinegar chips and 10 bottles of fizzy but he said I want more food but he felt sick but he still wanted to eat food and he had also had some crunchy weetbix. He also had a lot of orange juice WOW! Thats a lot of sweets said Lily and 100,000 cookies. I don't think dad will eat that much food again.  

The Park 

On Monday after school I went to the park but mum  did not come but my dad did. I had a picnic and I played on the slide and after that I played on the spider web and then mum came to the park and me and mum played with me then we just left.

Dogger 

Today we watched a story called Dogger and I'm going to tell you it. Once there was a little boy called Dave and his favourite toy was Dogger and he has a sister called Bella and his baby brother Joe. One day there was a school fair and he lifted up Dogger and then Bella came running to mum and said can we have an Ice-cream. So mum gave Bella the money then Bella went to the Ice-cream van. The next Night Dave was very sad and said to mum wheres Dogger. So mum looked and looked for Dogger but nowhere to be found and dad looked for him when he got home but still nowhere to be found. Dogger was on sale and the little girl had bought Dogger! Then Dave asked and the girl said no. But here came Bella and the little girl started to cry and gave back Dogger. THE END

Athlitics 

Today I'm going to tell you a recount. On Wednesday it was athletics and I was very busy. First we went to Miss Hefferman and we did sprinting and I came first in sprinting. Next we did long jump with Miss Wales and I came second. Then we did high jump with Mr Williams. Last we did skipping with Ellie then we had a break I loved athletics because it was brilliant.

Hi Everyone!

Last month which was in October, Ruru went on camp on the 27th to the 29th October We got back from camp 1 week later or something like that. While using We video I had learnt so many things like how to use voice over our how to add text or how to insert photos and lots of other good stuff. Next time I create a movie I would diffently use we video again and I really enjoyed it.  I didn't find anything difficuilt and I didn't learn anything. If I used WeVideo again the thing that I would make better was maybe use a voice over or insert more videos. 

Camp recount

Camp recount 

On october 27th Ruru, which is my class, gets to go on camp but if we wanted to go

on camp we had to be at school by 8:30am which is quite early in the morning for

me because I usually get up at 7:30am then start getting ready. Once it was 9:00am

the whole of Ruru had to get inside the class and we had to do a roll check to see

who was here and who wasn’t here once that was done we finally got to get on the

bus and make our way to Living springs. The bus drive took us a whole 40 minutes

to get there.

When we arrived at Living Springs we met two lovely people, one girl and one boy

and they took us around the place and they stopped in certain places to tell us

interesting facts about the things that we saw. When we made it past the

boundaries we finally made it halfway but suddenly when I looked up we had to

hike up a hill that felt like the same size as mount everest. It took about 2 hours to

just hike up a ginormous hill but then next minute we were up on top of the hill so I

sat down for about 10 minutes then we had to get up and get into the Auditorium

and sit down and have a little chat about what we are doing next.   

After all of that we had to do orienteering. We had to get into groups of 5 and in

my group there was Hannah  Hannaneh Polly Lottie and of course Jade. At

Orientering we had find different signs that had to letters on it then we had to

figure out what number it was so for example the sign was where the fence is then

we had to flip our map over and find the word that said tree once you find the word

then there was a number beside it then that was the number you have to put in. 

After Orientering we had recreational games. Here are some of the things that I

did. I started off by doing the Monorail then after the Monorail I did the Zipline

then finally after the Zipline I did the rope swing which was really crazy because

you swing all over the place. 

 After that we had to go back inside and we got to have 30 minutes free time and

for free time I kept on setting up my bunk room so it was ready for me to sleep in.

After our free time was up we had to do a Auction and if you don’t know what an

Auction is it is where you spend money to buy things but we weren”t going to spend

real money on stuff we are buying stuff with  our camp money that we had made at

the start of term 3. For the Auction the first thing up for grabs was 2 crunchie

bars and Devon bought them for 1000 camp dollars and I was like what was that for. The next bid was for for 2 crunchie bars and 2 chocolate freddos and Devon won it

again for 1200 dollars I said why did you do that Devon now your just wasting your

camp dollars and the last bid was to be the talent quest judge for WGT which is

Wigram’s got talent. Karaitiana won it for 1700 dollars. I tried to bid for it but I

only had 1155 dollars so I was Nowhere near that much money. 

After our Auction we did our Wigram’s Got Talent show and the first act was

Jaydah Karaitiana and Victoria's dance and it was really amazing and guess what

they came first place in the dancing competition from Wigram’s Got Talent.

I couldn’t remember the rest but for our group which was Me Jade, Hannaneh,

Polly and Lottie. We were doing magic and guess what we got a 10 from Miss Lee

and we also got a 10 from Miss Bunting and we got a 12 from Miss Ferguson and

we got an 11 from Karaitiana and our final score was 43 and we were really surprised

especially when Miss Ferguson pulled the number 12 which was the highest numbe

r pulled out for the whole of the camp concert. Once all the acts were done we had

to walk back to our bunk room and have a little chat before 9:30pm so that is what

we did for the first day but I said to myself there are still 2 more days left till we

go back to school by the time I finished saying that I was fast asleep.  

Day 2 28th october 2021.   

The next morning when we woke up we had to have breakfast and get dressed which

shouldn’t take too long. For breakfast we had cereal and If you want to you can

have toast. Once we all finished our breakfast we got to do 4 different activities

each one took 1 hour 30 minutes minutes long. The first one is that tribe 3,

which is my tribe, went to initiatives where you have to do all sorts of activities

and work together.  Our tribe did really well. Once we finished initiatives we had

to get back to Don's shed and eat morning tea and I finished before anyone else. I

had to wait patiently then finally Miss Lee yelled out so loud I almost begane to get

death but luckily I didn’t. The next activity was the Low ropes and that was pretty

easy for me because I am really athletic. Once that was done we had to go back

and eat some lunch and for lunch we had nachos and the only thing that was bad

about it was the peas and beans. If it didn’t have peas and beans it was the best.

After lunch we got to go bouldering and Alister made it the furthest because he

made it to the Mount cook. After that we had to go to a bush psychology walk and

when we arrived we got to draw a leaf and we got to choose the leaf we drawed

. After that we had  to chew on a leaf and apparently it is a medicine if you have a

toothache. Once those were done we got to have dinner and for dinner we had

cheese burgers and chips and it was also delicious. Once dinner was done we got to

have another Auction but sadly I didn’t win anything again. After that Auction we

had our movie and the movie we watched was Sonic the Hedgehog and we got to

watch 40 minutes of it and we got to watch the rest at school. When we stopped

the movie we had to go to sleep so good night. 

Day 3 29th october 2021 

The next morning we had to get up and eat breakfast and get ready to go back to

school so I started off by doing my sleeping bag and that was the easiest thing of

them all. After I finished packing we did another Auction and guess what I one

apprise and the prize was one rubber lipstick a notebooka necklace a key chain

anda pencil and it only cost $1,100 cheap as. After the last Auction we played a

game called Animal survier and I just hid in the bush and I didn’t lose a single life.

Once the game was over we had to get on the bus and go back to school.

So for the last 2 weeks we have been working on our descriptive writing and we had to write and describe what we could see, hear, taste, feel, and smell so here is the picture and here is my writing it is a bit long so read it when you have time. 

Me baking a chocolate cake without butter

So today I made chocolate cake and it tasted delicious and I would differently recemend it for people who love chocolate cake here is a picture.

Here is the recipe 

• All-purpose Flour. The base of the cake. All-purpose flour is fine, but for an even softer cake, use cake flour instead.
• Sugar. The cake sweetener. Granulated sugar, raw sugar, or coconut sugar all work. You can adjust the amount to suit your taste, but do not go below 3/4 cup as it will make the cake dry.
• Baking Soda. The leavening agent. To make sure it’s still potent, test it by adding vinegar in a bowl. It should fizz upon contact. 
• Unsweetened Cocoa Powder. It’s what makes the cake super chocolaty! Use natural cocoa powder for a lighter cake, dutch-processed for a darker one.
• Vegetable Oil. Adding oil makes any cake seriously rich and moist.
• Distilled White Vinegar. It reacts with the baking soda, causing the cake to rise. Apple cider vinegar works, too.
• Water. Cake recipes need a form of liquid to saturate the dry ingredients. Most recipes will call for milk, but since milk was scarce during the Great Depression, water is used instead

Then cook it for 40 minutes

So for the last week we have been working on our create tasks 1 2 and 3 and so for create task 1 we had to do a reading map with our reading teacher but the teachers said we didnt have to blog create task 1. so for create 2 we had to deisgn our bunk room labels to put on our cabin doors and here is mine 

So for create task 3 we had to make a pictograph about any of the native stuff and I choose to do the maui dolphin and the hector dolphin.

       

 

Me baking chocolate chip cookies in the Holidays including the recipe

So today I decided to make chocolate chip cookies and they turned out really really good if you really would like the recipe I can copy and paste it onto this blog post so right now I am going to show you all 18 cookies I have made

Here is the recipe for the chocolate chip cookies 

Ingredients

200g Tararua Butter
1 cup Chelsea White Sugar
1 cup Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla essence
3 cups Edmonds Standard Grade Flour
pinch of salt
1 tsp Edmonds Baking Powder
2 cups chocolate chips

Method 

Preheat oven to 180°C bake and grease or line two large baking trays with baking paper.

Melt Tararua Butter, then add Chelsea White Sugar and Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar and cream these together. Beat in the eggs and vanilla then use a spoon or spatula to mix in the dry ingredients.

Roll into medium sized balls and place on prepared trays. They shouldn't spread too much so flatten slightly. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned around the edges

Me cooking chocolate chips muffins and banana chocolate chip muffins

So today the Sunday 3rd October I have cooked  chocolate chips muffins and banana chocolate chip muffins all by myself so if you want to see them all you have to do is scroll down P.S. Happy holidays. 

Here are my Chocolate chip muffins if you want to know the recipe scroll down

Ingredients 

2 cups Edmonds Standard Grade Flour
4 tsp Edmonds Baking Powder
pinch salt
100g Tararua Butter, melted
3/4 cup Chelsea Caster Sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 cup Meadow Fresh Original Milk

Here is the method 

Preheat the oven to 220°C. Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl until just mixed. Don't over mix or muffins will be tough.
Spoon into well-greased muffin tins and bake for 12-15 minutes, until cooked.  Ideally served warm

Here are the banana chocolate chip muffins.

Ingredients 

2 eggs
1/4 cup Olivani Pure Olive Oil 
2 ripe bananas, peeled and mashed
1 cup Meadow Fresh Low Fat Milk
3/4 cup Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar
2 1/2 cups Edmonds Standard Grade Flour
4 tsp Edmonds Baking Powder
1 cup chocolate chips

Method

Preheat oven to 180°C. 
Line a 12 hole standard sized muffin tin with muffin papers.

In a large bowl beat the eggs, Olivani Pure Olive Oil , mashed bananas, Meadow Fresh Low Fat Milk and Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar together – just lightly. Mix in the Edmonds Standard Grade Flour, Edmonds Baking Powder and chocolate chips. Don’t over mix – the ingredients should be just gently stirred together to combine. Spoon into the prepared tins and bake for 15 – 18 minutes until puffed and golden brown. Cool on a wire rack

For reading we are learning about myths and legends and my book is Rata and the totara tree. 

In this book the characters are Rata.      

The setting is in the forest 

The problem is that Rata forgot to pray to Tane Mahuta so when rata cut down the tree the next morning it was standing up right 

The feelings were angry,surprised,ashamed,happy,confused,annoyed,disappointed and puzzled

the action was that Rata was trying to whack down a tree but then Tane mahuta and all his insects kept putting it the straight back up 

the conclusion was he finally realised what he did and then prayed to tane mahuta and got his Waka
